Former Awaze sales director joins Urbain Hospitality Group

Sally Henry, previously sales director at Awaze UK – parent of Hoseasons – has joined Urbain Hospitality Group as head of strategic partnerships and distribution.

New venture Urbain aims to create an urban short-term rental (STR) platform for travellers and homeowners.

Urbain will initially feature selected homes from vetted partner professional managers in various cities and then begin adding its own professionally managed inventory in selected European and North American destinations.

Under Henry’s direction, Urbain will partner with the industry to distribute inventory through leading marketplaces and travel agents.

Rishi Nigam, chief executive, said: “We couldn’t be happier to have Sally on the team as we get ready to launch our new website.

“Having worked extensively with Sally in our prior roles, I know we’re adding a best-in-class commercial mind to our team and Sally will be a tremendous asset in maximising the exposure and revenue of the urban property owners who work with Urbain for their professional short-term rental needs.”

Henry added: “I am delighted to be joining the team of esteemed ex-Wyndham colleagues in this venture.

“We have witnessed a huge surge in demand for short-term rental product throughout the past 12 months, as people seek their own quality assured accommodation as an alternative to hotels.

“As people are starting to return to cities it is imperative that we can offer this product, which will appeal to families and business travellers alike.

“When the time is right, we will be looking to partner with agents and platforms which can help introduce this curated urban product to their clients.”
