Vintage Travel eyes Greece expansion with new appointment

Villa specialist Vintage Travel is targeting growth across its portfolio – with a focus on Greek islands and the mainland – following the appointment of Gary Horsford.

The company said his “extensive” experience of the villa market, which most recently includes 18 months with Solmar Villas after 20 years with James Villas, makes him an “excellent choice to support Vintage as it moves into this next ambitious phase”.

In the newly created role of operations and commercial manager, he will work alongside suppliers and owners to expand the company’s portfolio.

John Fallon, overseas operations director, said: “Gary’s experience is a fantastic fit for us to support our exciting plans for development.

“We have strong ambitions to grow and Gary’s extensive knowledge of our market will be instrumental in making that happen.”

Commenting on LinkedIn, Horsford said: “Looking forward to a new chapter and challenge to work within a very well established and respected company within the industry.

“I am pleased to be part of the team to continue to secure high standard properties within the existing destinations as well as destination expansion.

“The team have been very welcoming already and looking forward to a bright and positive future.”

Vintage Travel, which sells through a select number of agents across the UK, is independently owned.

All properties are personally visited by regional specialists and most villas are exclusive to Vintage Travel.

In addition to the Greek islands and mainland, the company offers properties in Mallorca, Menorca, mainland Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Turkey and Portugal.
