Flight disruption at Italian airports is expected to be triggered by a strike by air traffic controllers on Friday (November 14).
A union representing controllers has called for industrial action in a dispute over pay and working conditions.
A walkout is planning for between 1pm and 5pm local time at airports across Italy.
Staff from several airlines, including easyJet, are expected to carry out further strikes throughout the day, according to local reports.
The walkouts are likely to result in flight cancellations and delays.
Associated protest activity is also possible in city centres and outside airports.
The situation will be compounded by a 24-hour strike by public transport workers in Rome on the same day.
The country also faces a 24-hour general strike on November 28, including airport ground staff.
However, flights scheduled in Italy between 7am-10am and 6pm-9pm are guaranteed, even during strikes due to state legislation.
