Three travel industry veterans were inducted to the British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame this week.
Inductees were Wendy Wu, founder of Wendy Wu Tours; Ben Reid, group chief executive of Midcounties Co-operative and Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of MSC Cruises.
They were inducted alongside chef Raymond Blanc, founder, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.
The event, organised by Travel Weekly Group in partnership with sister brand The Caterer, took place at The Dorchester hotel in London on Monday. The Hall of Fame recognises outstanding business achievement in the travel, hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors.
Other honours on the night included the Young Entrepreneur Award which went to Sam Bruce and Alex Narracott, founders of Much Better Adventures, while Adam Rowledge, general manager at the Georgian House in Pimlico, London, won the Young Manager Award.
Rowledge beat off stiff competition from three other finalists which included Cruise.co.uk’s product manager Katie Mapstone.
Top chef Jason Atherton was also presented with the Business Achievement Award, which recognised his global reach and culinary success.
