Tour operator members of Atas have been helping agents and customers with rebookings and advice following coronavirus travel bans around the world.
Paul Melinis, Atas chairman and APT managing director, said: “As everyone is well aware we are in unprecedented territory. I know it’s tough as information is changing rapidly and customers are looking to the industry for guidance.
“While it might all seem overwhelming, everyone has to keep calm and continue to look after clients to the best of our ability and crucially support each other. Remember the UK is resilient, this will pass and when it does we must be ready to respond.”
Claire Brighton, Atas account director, said: “We are here to support our members – tour operators, agents and others – through this unprecedented time. The Atas advice hub is the first step in increased support for all members.”
Travel Weekly has a coronavirus blog which is updated throughout the day, detailing the latest announcements from operators, airlines, cruise lines and authorities.
It has created a resource hub for the travel trade with advice and guidance from industry partners to give practical help to businesses during the ongoing crisis.
As recent weeks have seen changes to staff across the sector, Travel Weekly has compiled an up-to-date list of key tour operator contacts.
