Manchester airport is to close two of its three terminals from next Wednesday.
The airport said it had experienced a “significant fall” in passenger volumes as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, like “many airports around the world”.
The airport will operate all flights from terminal one.
Passengers have been advised to check-in and pass through security in terminal one from March 25.
“In some instances, where people find themselves returning to a different terminal from which they departed, and have a vehicle in one of Manchester airport’s car parks, we will make the necessary arrangements for these customers to collect their vehicles and will be in touch with them in due course to explain how this will work”, the airport said in a statement.
“Anyone who has booked car parking or lounge access for terminals two or three, and will be travelling on or after March 25, will be able to transfer their booking to terminal one.”
Earlier on Friday, Heathrow pledged to remain open in the face of a “seismic challenge” facing the global aviation industry.
The London hub and base of British Airways is taking steps to re-organise and shrink its operation to remain open throughout the crisis.
