Judy McCluskey, one of the doyens of travel PR in the UK, died on Tuesday, a week after suffering from a heart attack.
She was agency principal of London-based travel and tourism PR and marketing consultancy McCluskey International which she founded in 1987.
Hailing from Australia, she was a well-known figure in the travel and PR sectors with a roster of current clients including the tourist offices of India, The Maldives and Philippines.
With over 20 years’ experience in travel and leisure public relations, McCluskey handled a range of clients including tourist office, hotel, cruise line and airline accounts.
She held a Bachelor of Business Communications, Journalism and Public Relations, from the Queensland University of Technology and lived in the UK for two decades.
McCluskey was a member of the Institute of Travel and Tourism and the Airline Public Relations Organisation.
A small funeral has been arranged for close family and friends on November 23.
A larger memorial will be held on November 30 at 12 noon at Our Lady of Grace and St Edward Church on Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, W4 4PU, with a reception to follow afterwards.
