KLM adds Lapland to its network for winter

Dutch carrier KLM has added the northern Finnish town of Rovaniemi to its network for this winter, to cater to growing demand for adventurous winter trips to Lapland.

Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland and dubbed by its tourist board as the ‘official hometown of Santa Claus’.

Holidays in the region offer travellers the opportunity to see the Northern Lights, take part in reindeer safaris or explore on snow scooters.

The weekly service will operate from Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport on Saturdays, starting on December 3 and running through to March 25, 2023.

UK travellers can book indirect flights to Rovaniemi via Schiphol airport.

KLM will operate a Boeing 737-800 on this route, which can carry up to 186 passengers – with 30 seats in Business Class, six seats in Economy Comfort and 150 seats in Economy Class.

Rovaniemi will be KLM’s second destination in Finland after Helsinki.
