Tui UK & Ireland has reassured customers due to travel this weekend as flights resume that hotels in the north of Rhodes are fully operational and excursions are running.
A number of properties in the south of the island affected by wildfires are open but holidaymakers are being offered the option of cancelling with a full refund until August 11.
Those due to travel to the southern region between August 12-21 are being offered the option of amending their holiday free of charge.
The latest update from the operator on the situation on the island came ahead of outbound flights restarting tomorrow (Saturday).
Tui said on its website: “We’re continuing to closely monitor the wildfires in Rhodes which led to the evacuation of a number of hotels in the south of the island and have made some changes to our holiday programme in the coming days.
“We appreciate that anyone travelling to Rhodes in the near future may be concerned about their holiday, and we want to keep you updated on our plans and will be in direct contact with customers if anything changes.
“For those travelling to the north of Rhodes from Saturday 29 July, we want to reassure that hotels and resorts are fully operational and our team of Tui reps are offering their usual service. There will also be an excursion programme on offer for our customers who would like to explore.
“We are, however, offering fee free amends to another holiday that’s available or the option to cancel for a full refund for those customers due to travel up to and including 30th July for all areas of Rhodes including the north of Rhodes.”
The operator added: “We are constantly reviewing the situation in Rhodes and whilst a number of hotels in the south are open, Tui are offering customers travelling to a hotel in the south of the island the option to amend fee free or cancel with a full refund up to and including 11th August. Customers travelling to hotels in the south of the island between the 12th and 21st August can amend fee free.
“That said, please be assured that we’ll contact you directly as soon as possible if your hotel will not be operational. This includes customers who’ve booked a Tui package holiday which includes a non-Tui flight e.g. EasyJet.”
