Jacobs Media sister brands Aspire and the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) will partner for their first event together on December 8.
The Luxury Adventure Showcase will be held at Tobacco Dock in London and will bring together 50 agents from both networks to learn more about the luxury adventure sector.
The joint, all-day event will feature content sessions in the morning and prescheduled business meetings in the afternoon as well as lunch and networking drinks.
The event is supported by headline sponsor Quark Expeditions, activation sponsor AE Expeditions and sponsors Abercrombie & Kent and Cox & Kings, Rocky Mountaineer, Seabourn, Tourism Australia and Wendy Wu Tours.
Content will be centred around the luxury adventure market and the opportunity at hand for agents not yet capitalising on this growing sector.
Speakers include Debra Fox, managing director for the UK and Asia-Pacific, Abercrombie & Kent; Wendy Wu, owner, Wendy Wu Tours; Hazel Mansell, national sales manager for the UK, Rocky Mountaineer; Sarah Schlederer, national strategic key account manager for the UK & Ireland, Quark Expeditions; and Jane Middleton, managing director, Authentic Travel Company.
Aspire acting editor Erica Rich said: “We’re so excited to be hosting the inaugural Luxury Adventure Showcase – the first time Jacobs Media sister brands Aspire and Atas have joined forces. The luxury adventure sector is growing at pace – and we’re looking forward to putting it centre stage with a brilliant line-up of sponsors and speakers.”
Atas director Claire Brighton added: “Atas is delighted to be partnering with its sister brand, Aspire, on this exciting new event. The adventure sector often sees misconceptions that it offers poor quality accommodation or that it is a holiday where guests are ‘roughing it’ and this couldn’t be further from the truth.
“This event will allow us to break down these misconceptions and demonstrate the wealth of luxury options available.”
The Luxury Adventure Showcase is open to UK-based agents that are within the Aspire and Atas databases.
There are limited places remaining. Interested agents should email erica.rich@travelweekly.co.uk or claire.brighton@touringandadventure.com
