C&M Travel Recruitment has reported new travel roles have reached their highest point in the last 12 months in its latest figures.
The company said vacancies for travel jobs were up 22% in February compared to January.
However, the firm noted a fall in new candidates searching for jobs in the sector at the same time, with February figures down by 11% compared to January, and 9% on the previous year.

Placements in February also dipped by 14% compared to the previous month, and 47% on the same month last year.
Barbara Kolosinska, managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said the business would be “watching the situation carefully” over the coming months, adding: "For the market to be buoyant we need healthy numbers of new and exciting roles each month, so it’s great to see that more travel jobs were made available in February than at any point in the last year.
"Of course, we now need this to filter through into more placements being made in the next few months, but this is a very positive sign.”
She added: “Less welcome was the small dip in new candidates, which will mean that clients have a smaller talent pool to choose from.
“But hopefully the big increase in roles – with many offering fantastic salaries too – will encourage more jobseekers to explore the opportunities that are currently out there.”
