A 13-strong team from Ocean Holidays is preparing to run a combined 118 miles from Zimbabwe to Zambia, over Victoria Falls, in a bid to raise £10,000 for the charity Play It Forward.
The group, who have dubbed themselves ‘Ocean’s 13’, will take on the challenge on July 6 and are urging the travel industry to back their cause.
Ocean Holidays co-chief executive Harry Hastings, who will be among the runners, said: “This challenge is about far more than distance – it’s about shared values, meaningful partnerships and doing the right thing.”
Zambia-based Play It Forward, founded by Attraction Tickets chief executive Olly Brendon, supports young people in Livingstone through sport, education, nutrition and sexual health awareness, with a particular focus on helping girls.
“Play It Forward is an incredible organisation making real, lasting change in Livingstone, and we’re proud to support them. This run is our way of turning belief into action,” said Hastings, whose brother George, Ocean Holidays’ managing director, will also be running.
The total distance will be 190.5km, which is the equivalent distance from the company’s Romford headquarters to the English Channel.
Ocean Holidays has been working with Attraction Tickets and its trade brand Do Something Different for more than 15 years.
