Tulloch said: “We’re incredibly proud of our team and what has been achieved so far, but Firebird’s vision to unlock the full potential of Absolute Escapes is exactly what we’ve been looking for to take our much-loved business to the next level.”

Mathie said: “I’m hugely excited to be working with Andy, Sheila and the team to help them grow the business sustainably, introducing even more outdoor enthusiasts from around the
globe to the incredible walking trails, self-drive routes and train journeys that the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands have to offer.”

Absolute Escapes has won multiple Aito Tour Operator of the Year awards.

Firebird describes itself as an “expert growth consultancy in travel, leisure and education”.
