Atas unveils ‘discover’ theme for Touring and Adventure Month

The Association of Touring and Adventure (Atas) has unveiled the theme of “discover” for its Touring & Adventure Month in April.

The annual training initiative showcases the wide range of holidays that clients can book, as well as a wealth of information and sales tips for agents selling touring and adventure – whether they are new to the sector or already established sellers.

Claire Brighton, Atas account director, told a Travel Weekly webcast: “The theme is ‘discover’ as you can discover Atas for the first time, discover the sector, and if you have already been selling it, you can discover new tips and new destinations.”

As part of Touring & Adventure Month, agents can join Webinar Wednesdays which will begin at 10am each week and feature five operator updates each time.

Atas has been working closely with members to produce training and marketing materials for the month-long event to support agents’ sales efforts.

In week one, agents can find out “Why?” they should sell touring and adventure, along with reasons for customers to book and reasons to join Atas.

Week two will focus on “What?”, as Atas showcases its members’ range of products, then week three will have a “Where?” theme, with a focus on key destinations.

Week four will be “Who & How?”, offering agents advice about putting everything into practice.

As well as the Webinars Wednesdays, agents will be able to use toolkits with marketing assets and “myth-busting” tips – and earn points to win prizes.

Atas will also shine a spotlight on sustainability and help agents discover more about niche parts of the sector.

Brighton said: “The most recent research data from Atas members has revealed that April is a key booking for touring and adventure holidays.

“Also in April, we will reveal more trends from our most recent research, which has been compiled in partnership with Marketing Radar.”

Brighton added: “The ‘discover’ theme also ties into our annual conference which will be held in Liverpool (October 10-11), offering agents who are new to the sector the chance to discover why they should be involved with Atas, while agencies that are already selling such holidays can explore the sector to find even more useful tips and trends.”

To access all the benefits, agents in the UK and Ireland can sign up for free Atas membership.
