Uniworld to host 50 agents on ultra-luxury showcase in India

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will host 50 agents on a seven-night ultra-luxury showcase in India in June.

The operator has invited key partners to spend two nights in Delhi, one night in Agra and one night in Jaipur staying at Oberoi Hotels, before transferring to the Ganges Voyager II for a three-night sailing along the Ganges River.

In an interview with Travel Weekly, UK managing director Chris Townson hailed the success of the line’s first ultra-luxury showcase held in Paris in March 2023, but said he wanted to “up the ante” by taking agents on a “once-in-a-lifetime trip” to India.

He said the country is performing “incredibly well” for the river cruise line and the showcase will be both “relaxing and educational” for the agents involved, and will include a visits to the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort and City Palace and a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi.

Uniworld is offering three agents the chance to win a place on the trip for themselves and a plus one. To enter, agents must make two bookings with the operator in either January, February or March. India bookings count for two entries.

Uniworld will draw winners at random at the end of each month.

Townson said: “This trip is going to be the most amazing experience for the agents involved – I don’t think anyone else has ever offered something like this before so it truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“The reality is, we have the best tour of India but the majority of our agent partners don’t know about it so this is an education piece, although everyone will have a lot of fun as well.

“In the past two years, we’ve seen such growth from our long-haul product so we really wanted to show our key partners the amazing offerings we have, because while business is great, our growth could be astronomical and agents will be a key part of that.”
