On the Beach delivers short-term ‘price drop protection’

A lowest price guarantee on summer 2025 holidays is being introduced by On the Beach on bookings made by midnight on February 3.

The ‘price drop protection’ means that if customers see the price their holiday drop between booking and 60 days before departure, they can claim back the difference in the form of a credit towards their next holiday.

A study by the OTA suggests 27% of people book their holiday with their January pay packet while a further 27% are undecided.

Almost two-thirds (63%) of the 2,000 consumers asked waited for a better deal last year before booking, with 40% hanging on a few months or until the last minute to book.

Of those that waited, more than half (51%) said the price of their holiday stayed the same or went up considerably.

The poll found that 40% feel anxious, stressed or worried about not having their summer holiday booked yet but 63% are waiting to book their holiday to see if a better deal comes up,

Other research revealed that more than a third (36%) are spending more on their summer holiday this year.

Chief customer officer Zoe Harris said: “We know that a whopping 75% of holiday-wanting Brits are worried about prices going up if they wait, yet many are willing to take the risk to see if they can secure a better deal.

“We’re now eliminating all risk, anxiety, stress and worry for customers with our industry first price drop protection. Customers are guaranteed the lowest price and if it does drop, fear not, because you can claim the difference back.”
