Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has produced marketing assets to help agents to capitalise on the line’s appearance in a new TV series about luxury cruising.
The line will appear in the inaugural episode of a new series on Channel 4 that explores some of the world’s most luxurious travel experiences, from cruising and island escapes to superyachts and grand hotels.
Inside the World’s Most Luxurious Cruises will air on Channel 4 next Monday (November 17) at 8pm, featuring Uniworld’s Super Ship Maria Theresa on the Danube as “the world’s most luxurious river cruise option”.
The programme follows Uniworld’s Enchanting Danube itinerary, showcasing VIP, behind-closed-doors experiences including a private concert of Mozart and Strauss in Vienna and an opportunity to view masterpieces such as Vermeer, Rubens and Caravaggio at the city’s Kunsthistoriches Museum before it opens to the public.
Alongside Uniworld, Monday’s programme will also feature luxury ocean cruising brands Regent Seven Seas, Cunard and Star Clippers.
Chris Townson, managing director of Uniworld in the UK and Europe, said: “We are really excited to be part of this new programme on Channel 4, especially as the only river cruise company to be included.
“River cruising is still not as established or understood as ocean cruising, so to appear alongside a number of brands that are well-renowned for their levels of luxury at sea is perfect positioning for us, and is evidence that we are truly unparalleled when it comes to ultra-luxury cruising on the world’s rivers.
“We strongly recommend that agents encourage their client base to tune in, because the programme will be the perfect way to inspire and inform about the exceptional experience Uniworld offers on board the Super Ship Maria Theresa.
‘We also encourage them to check out our wider portfolio, as every ship and itinerary is different whilst consistently delivering at a world-class level.
“Our team will be on hand to support all our agent partners with a dedicated brochure and other tailored assets to help them close the sale.”
Uniworld’s cruises have featured on number of TV programmes in the past, most recently in Susan Calman’s Cruise of a Lifetime on Channel 5 which followed Uniworld guests on India’s Golden Triangle and River Ganges, staying in Oberoi Hotels and aboard the Ganges Voyager II along the way.
The exposure across two programmes in the series, combined with a dedicated trade sales and marketing campaign comprising assets, training and information, resulted in an increase in Uniworld’s trade bookings to India of more than 200% year on year, highlighting the opportunity that such TV coverage can bring to travel agent partners.
Uniworld is producing social media posts, a digital brochure on the Super Ship Maria Theresa and dedicated emails that agents can send to their clients.
