Visit Malta has welcomed the addition of a new route from Belfast International airport operated by Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
Weekly flights to the island will begin on Thursday, March 28, 2024 and run until October 31.
The tourist board said it hopes the route will encourage more Northern Irish travellers to pick Malta as a summer holiday destination.

Visit Malta plans to visit Northern Irish agencies to conduct training sessions this year and next to educate agents before flights begin.
Tolene van der Merwe, Visit Malta director UK & Ireland, said: “We welcome the investment from Jet2 and Jet2holidays into Belfast International airport and adding Malta exclusively to their product programme for Northern Ireland.
“This is an important market for us as Irish travellers accounted for 33,800 visitors to Malta in 2022.”
