Visit Pensacola has developed a range of educational resources for agents as it reaffirms its commitment to the UK trade.
The tourist board said it wants to capitalise on “increasing interest” in the Florida destination with a “robust strategy to educate and engage with agents”.
Through collaborations with partners Stuba and Hotelbeds, Visit Pensacola will put on training events and create digital platforms and content, such as newsletters and blogs, to help boost agents’ knowledge of the city.
Visit Pensacola is also planning a dedicated travel agent roadshow which will aim to further engage the trade.
The event, due to take place in spring, will offer networking opportunities with the UK and Florida-based teams.
“Engaging with the UK trade is vital for Pensacola’s growth in this market,” said Darien Schaefer, president and chief executive of Visit Pensacola.
“We’ve already seen great success in our partnerships with leading tour operators, and we’re excited to build on that momentum in our second year.”
Visit Pensacola said the destination’s rising popularity is thanks to its “sugar-white sand beaches and emerald waters”.
The authority also pointed to its “prime location among the Deep South’s hidden gems”.
