HX Hurtigruten Expeditions transitions to all-inclusive offering as standard

HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions) has rolled out an all-inclusive offering as standard across its fleet.

The expedition cruise line announced its plans in March this year and in a phased approach first shifted Antarctica and Galápagos in October, and the whole fleet in November to cover all destinations.

The ‘all-inclusive’ offering means each regular grade cabin price will now include daily expeditions and activities, full-board dining plus wine, beer, spirits and cocktails available across the day and evening, all-day coffee, tea and soft drinks, free Wi-Fi and gratuities.

An interactive science programme, access to sauna, hot tubs and fitness room and more, professional photos from the onboard photographer and take home expedition gear and reusable water bottle are also included.

Alex Delamere-White, HX chief commercial officer, said the decision was based on direct feedback from US trade partners and guests.

He added: “Since rebranding last December, this shift is part of our ongoing evolution, combining our renowned exploration heritage with modern guest experiences to enhance onboard offerings.

“By going all-inclusive, we empower guests to fully embrace their curiosity while exploring remote destinations, allowing them to focus on adventure and learning from our expert team. Additionally, this change simplifies our product for trade partners, making it easier for agents to sell our unique itineraries while maintaining our trade-friendly focus.”

He said the all-inclusive approach also “aligns with our philosophy of balancing adventure, comfort, and sustainability”.
