Brian Young (pictured), managing director for the EMEA region, said this year’s peaks period has been “phenomenal”, adding: “Our travel agent partners have played a pivotal role in driving momentum during this period so we thank them for their support.”
More than 200 trips have been launched for this year – more than at any other time in the operator’s history – and there has been a 50% increase in departures. New destinations include Pakistan, the Balkans and South Korea as well as lesser-visited regions of Japan and South Africa.
Kenya has achieved growth of 102% following the expansion of overland safaris, while Jordan’s growth of 106% has been driven by new Active itineraries including hikes through the Dana Biosphere Reserve. Travel to India has risen by 27% as people seek “rich cultural immersion”, G Adventures noted.
Young said: “The peak season for us has been phenomenal. It’s clear that more and more travellers are looking for meaningful and authentic experiences when they go on holiday.
After praising agents’ sales, he added: “We also appreciate their enthusiasm around our new product launches and look forward to continuing working alongside them to inspire even more adventures this year and beyond.”
