Eurowings appoints Kai Duve as commercial director

Lufthansa Group airline Eurowings has appointed Kai Duve as commercial director.

Duve succeeds Frank Bauer, who is moving to the group’s finance division as executive vice-president.

Duve joins Eurowings from sister airline Lufthansa, where he was head of cabin crews. In his new role, he will be responsible for HR, finance, IT, strategy and procurement.

Jens Bischof, Eurowings chief executive, said: “Kai is an excellent fit for Eurowings – both professionally and personally. He will enrich the management with his extensive expertise and international experience.

“That’s why I’m convinced that Kai is exactly the right person with whom we can continue on our chosen path at Eurowings – toward becoming a strong and popular value airline for Europe.”

In his new role, Bauer will oversee corporate controlling with responsibility for “efficiency improvements and performance management” across Lufthansa Group.
