Travel by B Corp has unveiled a new project, Swap the Sky, which aims to help the travel trade to sell more flight-free travel from the UK to Europe.
The group, composed of 42 travel and tourism companies, has created a survey for travel agents, trade bodies and industry associations in a bid to identify the barriers to selling flight-free trips.
A roadmap will then be produced in an attempt to support the industry to “eradicate” the barriers.
Travel by B Corp cited research suggesting that taking the Eurostar emits around four grams of carbon dioxide per passenger kilometre, compared with 154 grams for a short-haul flight, meaning the footprint of Eurostar is around 3% of a flight.
