Teletext Holidays is to become official sponsor of Sheffield United following the Yorkshire club’s promotion to the Championship.
The online travel company will be the official club partner and main shirt sponsor for the 2017/18 season following its acquisition of the club’s former shirt sponsor, Sheffield-based Alpharooms.com, late last year.
Since its move from television screens to an integrated online platform, Teletext claims to have catered to more than 850,000 holidaymakers in 2016.
The new Sheffield United home and away shirts to be unveiled this month with Teletext Holidays central in the design.
The travel firm’s managing director Wayne Perks said: “We are delighted to become the official sponsor of Sheffield United.
“It is a really exciting time for the football club and we’re glad to be a part of it.
“The partnership will help to re-establish awareness of Teletext Holidays as a major online travel brand, capitalising on Sheffield United’s large fan base and media power it has as part of the high profile EFL Championship.”
Chris Thorpe, managing director of Alparooms.com, added: “As a company born and bred in Sheffield, it was an honour to have Alpharooms.com on the front of the SUFC shirts for their successful promotion season from the EFL League One and to now pass the baton to our better known sister company Teletext Holidays.”
The club’s had of commercial Paul Reeves said: “We had a successful season with Alpharooms.com and we are delighted that we have been able to continue our journey into the EFL Championship with their sister company Teletext Holidays as our new shirt sponsors.
“We look forward to working with them to develop the Teletext Holidays brand next season.”
