Seasonal Manchester-New York flights run by Thomas Cook Group Airlines are being extended to a year-round operation.
Three additional flights a week to New York JFK airport have been scheduled from December 14, making it the carrier’s first US service from Manchester to operate throughout the year.
Departures from New York are on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A330.
Seats are available at a promotional rate leading in at £299.98 return in economy on selected days.
The extended service joins full year gateways Las Vegas and Seattle that Condor, the German operating part of Thomas Cook Group Airlines, already offers from Frankfurt.
Thomas Cook Group chief airlines officer Christoph Debus said: “This new year-round service represents further progress with Thomas Cook’s strategy to expand its successful long-haul offering.
“We want to become the preferred leisure carrier for long haul flights from Europe to North America.
“With our group’s 17 US gateways, it’s never been so easy for our customers to reach top US destinations and for inbound customers to explore Europe with ease and in great comfort.”
Passenger numbers between Europe and North America have more than doubled during the past three years.
Current US routes from Manchester include Miami, Orlando, New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Debus added: “New York City is amazing all year round, and with three further flights per week, we can now fly customers from Christmas until mid-March.
“We work closely with partner airlines, allowing us to connect to 90 destinations within the USA.”
