Holidaymakers will be able to choose specific hotel rooms before they leave home through a new add-on service from Thomas Cook.
The ‘Choose Your Room’ initiative is initially available at 50 hotels and will be available in 300 by next summer.
The option will enable holidaymakers to select their ideal room based on personal preferences at a cost of €30 per booking.
Customers will be able to book a specific room, from those available in their room category, six days before departure, according to the company.
The option to choose a hotel room prior to departure is one of the top choices people feel would enhance their holiday, according to customer research by the operator. A total of 87% said they would likely use ‘Choose Your Room’.
Thomas Cook UK managing director, Chris Mottershead, said: “We know our customers don’t stand still and have higher expectations of their holidays than ever before.
“This great new service allows us to raise the bar in terms of the quality, value and service we can offer customers staying in our hotels.
“We have always prided ourselves a pioneer in the travel industry and this innovation is receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from the customers who’ve taken advantage of it.
“We think it makes a great addition to the difference they can look forward to by booking with Thomas Cook over the coming year.”
Thomas Cook is working with TV presenter and property location expert Amanda Lamb to develop tips on how to choose the room that will help people get the best from their holiday.
