Portuguese airline TAP is introducing a new website to help agents capitalise on its stopover programme.
The airline launched its five-day Portugal stopover initiative in recent years to encourage more of its passengers to spend time in Lisbon.
Next year a new trade website will help agents pull all the elements together for their clients.
The programme sees travellers benefit from discounts at restaurants and experiences within Lisbon and Porto.
Ricardo Dinis, country sales manager for TAP, said: “The new site will help the trade pull everything together and will educate them further on the stopover programme. We think it appeals to consumers well because they get to see two countries and can take advantage of their stopovers when travelling on our long-haul routes, in particular, to the Us, South America and Africa.”
TAP recently launched a new flight between London City airport and Lisbon. Dinis said he believes the additional route will help the airlne tap into a market of affluent city workers wanting long weekends away.
He said initial response from the trade on the new route had been positive.
