WTM 2018: Mӧvenpick to open ‘sustainable’ hotel in the Maldives

Mӧvenpick Hotels & Resorts has launched its first resort in the Maldives.

The Mӧvenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives is located on a private island in the Noonu Atoll with 105 villas and suites.

The resort has been constructed ‘sustainably’ to minimise its ecological impact on the environment, with built-in solar panels, in-house water production and plant desalination.

The site also contains four restaurants serving locally-sourced seafood and produce, a spa, on-site diving centre as well as a 20-guest beach residence tailored for weddings and private gatherings.

Patrick Basset, chief operating officer at AccorHotels, said: “Mӧvenpick Resort Kuredhivaru is one of the few properties located in the Noonu Atoll house reef, home to some of the most beautiful diving spots in the Maldives and offering guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in this vibrant and unspoiled marine life.”
