The Co-operative Travel Consortium has welcomed five new travel agency members this year as it reports an uplift in sales.
New agencies to the consortium include Jetz Travel, Book It List Travel, Stonehouse Travel Ltd, Connoisseur Travel Services Ltd and Travel Finesse.
The consortium, part of Midcounties Co-operative Travel, said it had seen a rise in demand for long-haul holidays which accounts for just over 40% of the business.
Members’ sales were up 27% from January 28 to May 31 compared with the same period last year, while passenger numbers increased by 35% year on year.
The Co-op Travel Consortium is currently completing the testing of a new technology platform, vTarsc, which will be available to all members.
The consortium’s next conference will be held in April 2020, with exact dates and international host destination to be confirmed.
