Cosmos adds extra departures for popular India itineraries

Cosmos is adding further dates to two of its most popular India escorted tours to cater for demand in 2020 and 2021.

The 13-day Highlights of Northern India holiday offers guided sightseeing via rickshaw, and the chance to see the Taj Mahal (pictured), Agra Fort, the Amber Fort, and meditation rituals along the Ganges River.

It costs from £2,322, including flights from Heathrow and overseas transfers.

The 12-day Discover Southern India and Kerala holiday explores the historic cities of Chennai and Mahabalipuram, as well as the temple and palace of Tanjore.

Clients can also visit a spice plantation in Thekkady and take an overnight cruise on the backwaters of Kerala.

It costs from £1,899 with flights London Heathrow and overseas transfers.

Janet Parton, Cosmos’ UK sales director, said Cosmos and its sister brand Globus have expanded their long-haul portfolio by 20% over the past five years to cater for the increased demand from holidaymakers.

As well as India, Cosmos is seeing demand grow for other “exotic” destinations such as Japan which can be explored easily with an escorted tour.

Parton added: “On a Cosmos or Globus touring holiday, there are travel professionals on hand to organise the logistics and scheduling before and on each tour, taking away the hassles of travel and leaving the best parts of travel for the customer to enjoy.

“Every day on a Globus or Cosmos tour, local guides provide immersive opportunities and the stories behind the sites.

“This local insight helps connect people to places, helping customers to delve deeper into the destination.”
