Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is to launch flights and packages to Lisbon for summer 2020.
The Portuguese capital was announced as the latest new destination by chief executive Steve Heapy at the operator’s Partners2Success conference for independent agents in Calpe, Spain.
From April 2020, the airline will operate twice-weekly services from Manchester on Thursdays and Sundays and weekly Friday services from Birmingham.
Heapy said Lisbon is a popular beach and city break destination and is due to go on sale next week.
He also urged independent agents selling Jet2holidays, of which around 300 are attending this week’s conference, to advise the company which new destinations their customers want.
Flights have recently been added to destinations including Tivat, in Montenegro, Lesbos and Skiathos in Greece.
“Lisbon is a beach and summer destination,” said Heapy. “It is one of the destinations we’ve wanted to do for a while.”
Heapy also promised another new summer 2020 destination, which he said was likely to be announced next week.
