Good ways to combat effects of underhand direct-sell tactics

WE STRONGLY agree with agent’s comments about the underhand way operators are advertising their direct-sell avenues.


If every independent stuck together and deracked the brochures of the culprits, we are sure they would feel the impact and realise how important travel agents are.


Do these tour operators realise what an insult it is to the very industry that work so hard to sell their holidays, Ihasten to add, on low profit margins?


Our message to tour operators would be to keep this sort of tactic away from your mutual partners’ backyards, the key word being mutual.


We have found a good way to combat and adapt to this new consumer trend. We produce our own stickers, large enough to cover the tour operators direct-sell adverts. Our stickers state that bookings should be made via us or e-mailed to us 24hrs a day.
