n new travel portal to go live in september


A new travel portal named IfYouTravel.com is to be launched at the end of September following a merger between three specialist ski sites – Complete-Skier.com, Skiin.com and Skiguide.dk. The portal will act as an umbrella for four other sites. One, IfYouSki.com, will be a revised version of the three old ski sites. The new ventures will comprise IfYouGolf.com, IfYouDive.com and IfYouAdventure.com. The chairman of the newly merged operation, Michael Liebreich, said the specialist travel market was worth an estimated £10bn a year in Europe. The company is also considering launching cruising and villa sites.


n British european name change offer


British European Airways is celebrating its name change from Jersey European Airways by offering over 250,000 one-way seats across its network for £28, including taxes. Agents can make the bookings between now and May 31 next year.


n stratton takes new role at holiday extras


ABCHoliday Extras has appointed David Stratton as e-commerce co-ordinator to drive trade sales for its travel trade Web site – www.holidayextras.co.uk. Stratton was previously sales and marketing director for the company.


n iglu.com launches activity web site


On-line ski specialist Iglu.com has launched a Web site focusing on activity holidays. Approximately half the product featured on IgluActive.com is in France. Tour operator partners include French Life, Meon Villas, Maeva and Brittany Ferries. The site covers activities such as rock climbing, windsurfing and archery. www.IgluActive.com.
