ANITE has agreed a £2m deal with Intelligent Environments Group that will allow the company to offer a live Internet booking facility.
Anite claims the new technology is capable of turning any reservation system, no matter how old it is, into a fully interactive Internet booking system with the help of IEG’s iE Integrator software. Since last August, Anite has set up Web booking systems for six out of its 50 UK tour operator clients. The company expects to get a further 12 clients onto the Web by the end of the year.
Anite head of marketing Howard Frost said: “iE Integrator is a very clever piece of software that will link anyone to the Web.”
Anite claims it is suitable for converting hotel and flight reservations systems as well as tour operator systems.
The company is paying £1.5m to become the sole travel industry distributor of iE Integrator and a further £500,000 to acquire IEG’s traveldivision.
