Ryanair admits slump on UK to Dublin route
RYANAIR chief executive Michael O’Leary has warned that his airline’s core UK traffic to Dublin is on the wane.O’Leary blamed the high costs at Dublin airport for a dramatic tailing off of passenger numbers from Stansted and regional UK airports.
O’Leary said the disappointing Dublin figures were the only low point in an otherwise record set of results for the year to March 31. The airline improved pre-tax profits to £57m from £47.4m in 1998/1999.
Major savings were made through ryanair.com, said O’Leary.
