Following the launch of its dedicated eventsprogramme, Days and Nights, earlier this year, Crystal arranged forLondon travel agent, Fraser Donaldson, to sample three different outings. Donaldson, who isassistant manager at the Thomas Cook Marble Arch branch, was accompanied by senior product manager for Crystal Days and Nights and Crystal Britain, Nadine Jones. They enjoyed a day at the Stella Artois Tennis Championships, a night at a West End show and a day at the races. Here’s how they got on.

Anyone for tennis?

The pair’s first treat was tennis at London’s Queens Club for the last major grass tournament for men before Wimbledon, which gives players the chance to practice on grass.

Crytsal Days and Nights offers packages to both the Stella Artois tournament and Wimbledon. Prices for the former cost from £87.25 per person, including ticket entry to the championships and a night at the three-star Grange Adelphi Hotel in Kensington, with breakfast.

Hitting the West End…..

Having spent an enjoyable day at the tennis, Fraser and Nadine’s next social appointment was an evening at the New London Theatre, Drury Lane near Covent Garden, to see the world’s longest running musical, Cats. Now in its eighth year, Cats is an Andrew Lloyd Webber production which has impressed audiences from around the world. Nadine said: “Cats is a superb production and I’d highly recommend it as a family show. It is currently one of Crystal’s most popular London musicals.”

Crystal Days and Nights offer theatre breaks in London, with top seats for shows such as Cats and a night in a London hotel, with breakfast, from £81 per person. Crystal Days and Nights can also arrange tickets for a whole selection of other London attractions, from the London Eye, to the Millennium Dome and outer London venues such as Legoland in Windsor.

A day at the Races-

The next stop for Nadine and Fraser involved dressing up to the nines for a day at the races. Looking more like a couple from a glossy magazine than two travel trade professionals, the pair caught the train to Ascot where they were met and escorted to Tetworth Hall, courtesy of Radisson Edwardian Hotels.

After a sumptuous lunch, it was time to transfer to the racecourse to mingle with the jet-set, have a flutter on the horses, or just make the most of a day out of the office.

The couple did all three – Nadine turning heads with her stunning outfit and hat and Fraser pocketing a cool £65 from the afternoon’s betting – having won £60 on the first race alone.

Donaldson said: “It was a fantastic day out and we felt like royalty from the moment we stepped off the train. Ascot was enormous fun – in fact, I’m still enjoying my winnings.”

Crystal Days and Nights offer racing breaks from £110 per person, which include a day at the races and overnight accommodation in a four-star hotel, with breakfast.
