Prestige bolsters rural coverage for 2000/01
UPMARKET operator Prestige Holidays has added more rural properties to its winter 2000/01 brochure as it looks to capitalise on the growing trend for independent travel.Country hotels in Madeira, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria have been introduced along with six hotels in southern Spain, the first time the destination has been featured.
Deputy managing director John Dixon said growth of 11% was being targeted.
“The rural properties we featured in Tenerife, Morocco and Madeira last winter proved very popular with our more independent clients,” said Dixon. “The new properties will attract those looking to escape to quieter, less commercialised areas.”
The operator has also added scheduled flights with GB Airways to Tenerife which Dixon predicted would boost sales to the island.
“Many of our clients travel Club Class and I know the new GB Airways service will be popular,” he said.
Prices for one week at the Villa Nati hotel in Tenerife, which is situated in the Orotava Valley, lead in at £642 per person on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
