Delegates may rely on view from the bar
ABTA has been forward thinking in its plan to launch a television news service for the convention, due to be held in Kos in October.Networktv will include a mixture of live and pre-recorded material which will be transmitted around the bars, cafes and foyers of the convention centre throughout the day.
But surely it’s a mistake to relay the business sessions to the bars and cafes(Travel Weekly July 31).
Many delegates will think why bother going into the conference hall if we can watch proceedings over a coffee or a beer?
It could well turn out to be a recipe for some half-empty sessions.
