Go pioneers low-cost service to Tenerife
GO is set to become the first low-cost airline to fly to Tenerife when it launches a service on September 27.The British Airways subsidiary will fly from Stansted to Tenerife four times a week for the winter and is considering increasing the frequency in summer 2001.
The new winter route is part of an expansion of Go’s service which includes launching routes to Glasgow and Belfast, increasing the frequency of flights to Faro and Alicante, and resuming services to Munich and Lyon.
Go will operate four flights a day to Glasgow from November 1 and a Stansted-Belfast route will be launched in the autumn when schedules have been confirmed.
Alicante and Faro will be served four times a week from October 29, a day after Go’s summer flights to Palma, Ibiza and Reykjavik have stopped.
The lead-in price for Tenerife is £148 return including taxes.
Meanwhile, Go has had held talks with Glasgow and Belfast airports about introducing services from both airports.
