Cresta adds capacity for golf-based breaks

CRESTA has increased capacity in Pas De Calais and Normandy, allowing more golfing fanatics to tee off 2001 in style.

The news comes on the back of Cresta’s most successful season ever and the year in which it was awarded the inaugural Best Golf Programme to France 2000 title.

In an attempt to ease the pressure on the coastal properties and courses that are popular with the short-break market, the newly opened Hotel du Golf d’Arras at Arras has been introduced to the programme.

Cresta has also introduced ‘golf days with a difference’ – day trips with Eurotunnel crossings to a choice of courses within a 70-mile drive of Calais.

Prices start at £27 per person, based on four sharing a car, for a mid week Eurotunnel crossing and a pre-reserved round of golf at Wimereux or Arras. The lead-in price for the new Golf in France programme is £81 per person, based on two sharing, for a three-night stay with breakfast at the Hotel Les Cedres in Camiers.

Meanwhile, Cresta has joined forces with British Midland and East Midlands Airport to launch a special mini-brochure based on direct flights from East Midlands Airport.

For all bookings made during September for travel up to December 15, customers taking a short break to Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Dublin receive a free upgrade – worth up to £192 – to British Midland Diamond EuroClass.

The deal includes three days’ free parking at the airport.
