Wigmore Holidays lifts commission payments
WIGMORE Holidays has struck a new commercial deal to reward independent agents that back the operator.
Under the renegotiated terms, the Tunisian specialist will start paying 15% commission after a retailer has achieved £20,000 worth of business.
Previously, the improved rate kicked in after agents had hit the £30,000 mark. Its basic 12% commission remains unchanged.
Launching the operator’s 2001 brochure, managing director Tijani Guetat said it wanted to reward supportive agents who he claimed have been responsible for an 8% upturn in business during the year.
“We have no dealings at all with the multiples so our entire effort is through independents,” said Guetat. “Hence we have to make sure we are seen to be totally fair with those who gave us their backing.”
The programme features new four and five-star hotels – the Sol Azur in Hammamet, the Odyssee in Zarzis, the Sofitel Palm Beach and the Dar Dhiafa, both in Djerba.
Also new is the option to pre-book thalassotherapy spas which are available at a number of upmarket hotels.
“Previously clients had to deal directly with the spas when they arrived at the hotels but many holidaymakers found it was fully booked,” said Guetat.
