* What has been your biggest challenge in the travel industry?
Proving to many people that I would be successful in the insurance world.
* What, apart from your current position, would be your ideal job in travel?
Making travel documentaries or videos. Not like Wish You Were Here, they would have to be educational.
* What single thing have you achieved at work which has given you the most satisfaction?
Getting to where I am today.
* Which company, apart from your own, do you most admire and why?
Holiday Autos. They are living evidence that if you work hard you can achieve your goals.
* If you weren’t in travel, what would you be doing?
I think Iwould have joined the police force.
* What advice would you give to someone starting out in the travel industry?
Work hard, play hard and have fun. More importantly, see the world before you decide on your career path.
* What’s the best job you’ve had, apart from your current one?
Falcon Holidays sales representative. We had a great team in Birmingham, many of whom are still in the travel industry and still successful.
* What hours do you work, on average, each week?
My day usually starts at 5.30am with a wake-up call. I’m usually on the road for about 6.30-7am and get home at around 8pm.
* What one thing would you change about your job?
The paper work.
* Make one prediction about travel in the 21st century.
It’s hard to predict anything. The industry changes so quickly. I think the trade will still be a roller-coaster ride and not for the faint-hearted.
