Staff are being bullied with threats of disciplinary action
Following on from the Thomas Cook manager who wrote in (Travel Weekly October 23), I share the view that senior managers in the company are bullying managers and staff with threats of disciplinary action as well as harassingunder-performing staff to leave.
I was told I should resign from my post after my shop failed its audit. It was the first audit I had been through since joining Thomas Cook after my previous employer, Carlson, merged with them.
I had never received any thorough audit training from Thomas Cook.
Nor had I ever failed an audit with my previous employers.
I have seen other Thomas Cook managers fail an audit and shortly after announce they are stepping down or leaving the company.
I now believe they were probably ‘helped’ into making this decision.
Everyone knows that audits are very important and are there to protect the company’s assets.
But I am disgusted with the way I have been treated by senior managers at Thomas Cook when all that was required was a little training.
