Cigar roller: see a demonstration on the stand

Destination set to turn on some of the colonial style

Cuba’s vice-ministers of tourism, Eduardo Rodriguez de la Vega and Marta Maiz, will lead a delegation of Cuban suppliers to this year’s World Travel Market, including hoteliers, ground handlers, airlines and travel agencies.

This year’s stand is a reproduction of a typical Cuban colonial building, capitalising on the fact that Havana, the capital, has been declared a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation World Heritage Site.

The stand design has also been chosen, according to Cuba Tourist Board UK director Max D’Ou Lam, to emphasise the growing number of UK visitors who visit Cuba for its rich history, culture and beach resorts.

There will be a Cuban cigar roller demonstrating his craft on the stand. Visitors who drop in will also be able to sample Cuban rum-based drinks and tropical juices.

Time Out

The Cuba Tourist Board is hosting a foodfestival, dubbed A True Taste of Cuba, during next week’s show. The event takes place on Tuesday November 14on London’s floating restaurant, the Hispaniola.
