Botswana

The Botswana Department of Tourism will be telling visitors about promotional plans for the UK, including an advertising campaign that begins in January.

The country’s unspoilt natural beauty, political stability and low crime rate are seen as the key selling points for tourism.

Mauritius

Mauritius is sending its largest ever delegation to World Travel Market, a reflection of the island’s continuing success in the UK market. British visitors are over 27% up on the previous year and the UK is now the second biggest long-haul market after France. The Mauritian delegation will be led by the island’s new minister of tourism Nando Bodha whose appointment has just been announced.

Seychelles

The Seychelles is using the show to highlight the launch of an advertising campaign based on the slogan ‘Seychelles, as pure as it gets.’

The Seychelles stand reflecting the new image will be 25% bigger this year and will host 65 delegates, 20 more than last year.

The destination is also launching a series of trade and consumer brochures and a hotel directory.

Reunion

Two representatives from the Paris-based Reunion Tourist Office, together with eight incoming tour operators and hoteliers, will attend this year’s show.

These include a representative from the new four-star, beach-front hotel Les Villas du Lagon which opened six months ago.

The tourist office will be presenting the trade with a new sales manual, as well as a special offer for travel agents visiting the island. It is also keen to discuss incentive group opportunities.
