Seaforths improves on-line booking facility

The new CD-ROM still lets clients access Seaforths’ own database of flights which is divided between last-minute availability, published and discounted negotiated fares.



However, the revised system is easy to use, enabling clients to put in personal preferences such as frequent-flyer cards, seat preference and favourite meals.All data input is encrypted.



Once installed, the system will self-update when new information is received.



Seaforths director of technology Gary Hance said: “This is ideal for business travellers who want a managed corporate travel service rather than just the unregulated Internet sites which are out there.



“Many agents offer Internet-based products but most are very basic and work around requesting seats by e-mail.



“Our system allows users to decide on a flight, then quickly book it for themselves.”



Seaforths does not charge companies for the product but will profit by providing ticketing and other services.



SEAFORTHS Travel has rebranded its Internet booking tool, Ticket Window, and has introduced an updated version of the product to make it easier for business travellers to access information.



Now called Seaforths Online, the product has been launched on CD-ROM format.
