MIDCONSORT
managing director Mike Gates will come under increasing pressure to step down
from the £42,000-a-year post at a board meeting on Tuesday.
Chairman
Alan Oram and several directors have consistently denied rumours that Gates
will be leaving after just six months in the post.
But a
senior source at Midconsort has confirmed to Travel Weekly that many of the 11
directors believe there needs to be a change and will raise the issue a the
board meeting.
Gates
said: “This is news to me. Some directors are unhappy and if it is a majority
decision I shall have to accept it.”
