REGIONAL flight supplements have been scrapped in JMC’s Holiday Essentials brochure and replaced with charges relating to the time of departure.

All prices will be based on midweek night flights, irrespective of the departure airport. Flights at other times will incur supplements of up to £49, depending on the day of the week and flight time.

However, flights from Glasgow and Belfast will cost an additional £5. The operator is producing three brochures – for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

UK operations director Denis Wormwell said: “We will monitor sales. If it proves successful, we may roll it out to other programmes.”

However, he denied the concept of regional supplements was unfair, saying the price paid for Glasgow or Gatwick departures is largely the same.
