THOMSON has replaced group finance director Mike Frith after 29 years with the operator.
Chief executive Charles Gurassa has appointed former Avis Europe finance director David Maloney to the role. It is believed to be the first of a number of management changes under Thomson’s on-going review. Frith will continue in his current position until March 3 when the annual results are expected to be announced. After then, he will play an active role in ensuring “a smooth handover of responsibilities to Maloney”.
His departure was described as “entirely amicable”.
Gurassa, who joined the market leader in December, is building a management team to take Thomson through the next five to 10 years.
The first phase of the company’s review was completed before Christmas with the results of the second phase expected to be announced at its results in March.
