THOMAS Cook has said it will not be moved to put a figure on
how many staff it intends to shed despite industry rumours of a company
announcement to be made on Monday.
But the travel giant, which said its offer to employees to
take voluntary redundancy had prompted a stream of enquiries, admitted further
compulsory job cuts are likely.
Industry sources predict the group is looking to lose over
1,000 employees – similar to rival First Choice – but the company insisted no
figure has been laid on the table.
